Term 3 Capacity Building Programs

A unique capacity-building program designed specifically for ASD children (ages 7-12) & youth (ages 12-17), delivered by an experienced software engineer and OT.

 

Next term, we are expanding our 10-week weekly creative tech sessions across two locations, starting Wed July 15 and Fri July 17.

Choose between Wednesdays @ Beerwah Library OR Fridays @ UniSC (Sippy Downs):

  • 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM: Junior Team (ages 7–12) | 4–6 participants

  • 10:45 AM – 12:45 PM: Flexible Learning Team (ages 12–17) | Tailored for PDA profiles and school avoidance. 4–6 participants (remote available!)

  • 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Senior Team (ages 12–17) | 6–8 participants (remote available!)

ricing depends on exact group-apportionment ratios. The 2-hour teams (4–6 participants) range from $173 – $229 weekly, and the 4-hour teams (6–8 participants) range from $269 – $335 weekly.

Across all age brackets, we focus on using creative tech as a tool for capacity building. We design tailored, collaborative projects for small teams, assigning each participant a specific role to own and master. It is a fantastic, engaging way to build their self-confidence, executive functioning, and peer teamwork skills.
 

We specialize in supporting complex neurodivergent profiles, including participants with ASD Levels 2 & 3, ADHD, PDA, GAD, ID, ODD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and depression. For our Flexible Learning/School Avoidance teams, we utilize a specific, low-demand pacing approach, working with a contracted Behavioural Support Practitioner to ensure every participant feels safe, regulated, and capable.
 

Current Term 2 project examples:

  • Developing custom Minecraft mods for VR, where participants take on specialized roles using Python coding, Redstone engineering, Blockbench, and the Create mod.

  • Building a sensory-friendly VR experience of the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve in Maleny, where the kids utilize creative writing, Procreate, 3D Gaussian splatting, and Unreal Engine. Note: This group is MUCH more creative than tech-focused, involving a few girls and a boy supported by tech consultants from the other group.
     

Intake:
To ensure every participant is set up for success, Lauren and Joel run a thorough intake process for all new families. This involves a 1-hour initial needs chat with you (we only need the participant for about 20 minutes of this), either remotely via Google Meet (preferred) or in person. Lauren then reviews their NDIS goals, allied health reports, and any other helpful documents. Finally, we hold a case conference to build a tailored strategy and an individual curriculum plan for your child.
